This is the second year that Bradley Brown Design Group has created a
visual identity for the car shows and road races of the annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.
This weeklong event benefits the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the
Allegheny Valley School, and it's the only volunteer-driven event of
its kind in the United States.
In support of the event and its
charities, Bradley Brown donated design services to the creation of
race week materials including posters, programs, event-day passes and
more.
Our design for 2004 can be summed up in one word: fun. Because this year's Marque car is the MINI Cooper,
we wanted the event's materials to convey an energetic feeling of speed
and driving excitement. We worked with local illustrator Gregg Valley to create an image that uses deep, vibrant colors and the clean, dynamic lines of the MINI.
For last year's materials, we worked with illustrator Mark Bender
in the creation of a dramatic visual image reminiscent of Monaco's
racing posters of the 1930s. With its rich, lavish colors, stylized
elements and juxtaposed shapes, the illustration helps celebrate the
50th anniversary of the Corvette.
Our design of the 2003
Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix poster recently won a Best of Division
award in the 29th Annual Pro- Comm Awards sponsored by the Business Marketing Association.
In its division, the poster won the highest honor among four other
nominated posters. The overall competition included more than 600
entries in 40 separate business communication categories.

P.S. Allow us to run a victory lap here… Our Web site has been awarded a First Place Matrix Award.
